The phone rang and a voice on the other end says "Do you want any wood for turnng as I am having a sort out of all my blanks" silly question really anyway the conversation does " OK will be around in a couple of minutes".
And good to his word he pulls up outside opens the boot and says "I have not finished yet would you like more when I have" answer as most on here would say is "Yes please".

Well this is what I ended up with the ruler is a 12" one stood there just for a reference. All I need to do now is go through them and see what types of wood they are. I know there is a piece of Oak.

Have had a look and there are at least 5 - 6 Oak pieces which look as though they are going to be very hard on the tools but should make something nice. a couple of pieces that look a little like teak a large piece again looks like beech and a piece that possibly is london plane (fingers crossed) as for the rest will need to give them a quick plane to expose the grain better.

I will post some pictures as and when I manage to get some turned I have 5 money boxes to make, every time I seem to get some near the lathe someone wants something made :roll: :roll: :lol: :lol: :lol: . Luckily for me I have managed to complete this months challenge so I should get the boxes made before next months is due.
