I wonder if it will be possible to get anywhere near the Triton stand this time, without having to wade through a swathe of middle-aged men drooling over April Wilkerson? I might get to chase up an answer to the question they said they'd get back to me on - two years ago!

I'll be there both days, having a laugh and doing the odd bit of turning on the Dukeries Woodturning club stand. Look for an old'un with a handlebar moustache and say Hi.

Thanks Jim, you reminded me to book the Friday off!

Pete

I'd love to go, if only it was actually in the Midlands!!

As far as I'm concerned, I live in the West Midlands and Newark is over 100 miles away with virtually none of the journey on M.ways!

Surely, it is the East Anglian Woodturning show!!

At least the North of England show is in Yorkshire, which is definitely North!!

End of rant, but why are there no shows actually IN the Midlands????

Phil

Phil,

Newark is in the middle of Lincolnshire ...... Miles from east Anglian
It's at least dual carriageway all the way.
Assuming you come up the m69 I think there are just 4 roundabouts all the way.

You could alway move to the posher side of the Midlands

It’s in the East Midlands so quite clearly it is in one of the Midlands, just not the West Midlands

Yep went up to Newark the other week.
Granted I avoid times when poor people are going to work :D
My stat nav always gets cross after wymerpool as it insists I am driving through fields.

AND, have you driven the A46 recently!!

Phil

Newark is in Notts so definitely 'the midlands'. And the A46 is pretty much all dual carriageway from the showground all the way to M69 and generally not a bad road to travel on.

But for geographical conundrums try lovely Lincolnshire which seems to be too far east to be the Midlands, too far north to be east Anglia and too far south to come under Yorkshire and Humberside. We are a region unto ourselves!

Banter aside, are those of us who are going on Friday going to meet up?
I will recognise Doug and the two Petes but not sure about you other folks
