I've seen the real thing too, and some of Tim's other astounding work.
At first glance it's easy to miss the details but once you see them, you realise that the box and the plane share an impressive characteristic. The ability to cut right up to the required point and STOP, never adding a superfluous cut of the chisel or stroke of the file.
