Table Saw

Hello,
I am a new member and am wanting some advice on buying a table saw, I have never owned one before and not sure whether to buy new or second-hand. Looking online it seems a cast iron table is better?
I plan to build furniture and use it for general use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Second hand will get you a much better machine for your money, with the added advantage that if you're mechanically minded they're simple to repair. Startrite, wadkin, multico are all typical brands. A cast iron table is a given on those.

What is your budget and available space?
