When I bought my kity, it had a few blades with it.

1. One has a couple of carbide tips missing- is it possible to replace them, and is it worth doing?

2. Another has a pattern of teeth that I have not seen before. It is a flat tooth, alternating with something that looks like a flat tooth with the corners chamfered off, so that it is about a third of the width or the previous one.

3. If i wanted a flat ground blade, is it a standard blade altered by sharpening, or is it a specific blade- I am struggling to find one for sale.

TIA

Yes you can get missing tips replaced and it doesn't cost much, I use Leitz Tooling in Leeds.

Are the other teeth you mention like this:

It's a triple chip blade very good for cutting veneered boards without break out. I have one on my saw and if kept sharp cuts as good as if I had a scribing blade.

That is the one- I think it was on a high tooth blade as well, which makes sense.
And thanks for the tip on Leitz, they are just down the road.

Assuming you want a flat ground blade for trenching, the triple chip will produce a flat bottomed cut. The chamfered tooth removes the bulk of the waste leaving the square one just the corners to clean up.

that is what I wanted! Looks like i got a winner having that blade included with the saw- hopefully idea for cutting mitre splines and doing lift off box lids.

I have had several teeth replaced on saw blades, expect to pay around 3 quid per replaced tooth.

If you have a triple chip blade ( and that is what it sounds like from your description) then it is worth having the teeth replaced. Such blades tend to be specialty blades and unless it is a cheap Chiwainese effort it would/is have been fairly good quality and pricey when bought new.

Seeing as you are close to a saw centre it will be worth the trip to pop in and see them. They should be able to advise you on the quality of the blades you have.

it isnt actually the triple chip blade that has a couple missing, but it is a 270mm rip, which is the maximum my saw can take, and will give me 95mm depth of cut. Such deep ripping isnt a task I need to do often, but may be handy on the odd ocassion.

Like you point out, if I pop in and drop the blades off, they can tell me whether they are any good or not, and give me a price.
