Any of you folks out there happen to know of a cheap source of bits of electrical switchgear? I’ve replaced the 3-phase motor on a bandsaw with single phase 750w one, but of course the contactor and overload relay also need changing. I had a spare MEM 250v contactor, but MEM have changed the design so that the new overload relays don’t fit the old style contactors. To get both new contactor and relay from them would cost nearly as much as the bandsaw! One of the local motor rewind companies was extremely helpful in digging through their odds and ends box, but could not produce anything.
I guess the cheapest source is likely to be the “guts” of an Axminster starter unit, but just thought it might be worth asking here!
