Hi All

A while back I bought an Atkinson Walker cross cut blade for the SCMS - its expensive but very good. I've just taken delivery of a SIP clone table saw which came with a no name general blade - which is rubbish.

Question; is there any good reason why I can't use the the Atkinson Walker crosscut in the table saw? The diameter is fine, the bore the same. The reason I ask is that on the Atkinson Walker site they sell different blades for chop saws and others for table saws - so I'm guessing that there will be a subtle difference. Obviously I'd like to reduce the number and cost of blades that I'm buying. If it helps any I've a load of melamine faced mdf to cut up.

I think it should be fine.
Historically, blades for chop saws and SCMS's have a negative rake. But I gather that that is now less common. Putting such a blade in a TS is not a problem.

Putting a TS blade in a SCMS, however, may not be quite so easy. If it has a very aggressive rake you may get snatching.

Doug Perry, on here as Cutting Solutions, is the man to ask for a definitive answer.
