Hi folks
I need some advice on surface preparation prior to painting a bookcase that I'm about to build.
The material I'm using is 25mm oak faced blockboard (that I bought at a bargain price), one surface has an oak veneer but the reverse looks the same as Brazilian ply - not too bad but not as good as birch.
So should I use grain filler first or do you think careful sanding and then primer/undercoat etc. will be good enough.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
John
