One is plastic and one is alloy, so not completely the same, but yes does the same job.

I am not completely happy with mine. You can't use the measuring graduations (I got a metric one specifically) as they are are way too thick. It is actually not dead square which is a bit strange for a one piece square. It is square enough for most stuff, but if it needs to be 100% bang on, I wouldn't totally trust it.

I suppose they are for construction really rather than workshop woodworking.
