Hi all,
I have a Site cordless drill (Makita brand, but cheaper) with keyless chuck. I tighten the chuck by holding one part and running the drill, likewise for loosening. It has always been fine, for several years of regular use. Recently it seems to have become really tight and I have to put a wrench on it to loosen it. Does anyone know why this might be, or, even better, how to stop this happening?

No idea why, I got a new one from Screwfix when mine did that and it's easy enough to swap them over.

Get some WD40 on it and wind in and out a few times.

if that doesn’t work, get a new chuck
