Couldn't believe it, nipped to a well known garden centre at the weekend and spotted this string holder....
A ball of string £1.99.... Same ball of string but on this holder........ £12.99!!!

How are we not all rich!

I put my string in an old cocoa tin with a hole in the lid - it stops it tangling and costs nothing!

Am I showing my age? ;-)

my string holder is a coffee jar with a hole in the plastic lid. You can always see how much string there is inside.
I'd like to take credit for the idea, but I saw it on a woodworking magazine years ago...

Yes Andy you are, but not because you keep string in a tin, but because it is a cocoa tin!

I tend to keep my string in a snotty tangled mess in a drawer somewhere. Thankfully I don't have cause to use string much.

In fact I think my most recent storage place for string is a pile of plane shavings under my workbench, just behind the mousetrap!

So that if it misses the trap the poor mouse will string itself up? :)

What garden centre is it?, I've got a great idea for some thing very similar but was only going to charge £11.99............
