I have a well tuned bandsaw, tooth count on blade is correct- could be sharper but... I took it slowly and the end result was fine.

I had to slice an inch and a bit board x 12" off a 3" thick and I can honestly say that I didn't enjoy a single second of that exercise. It was English walnut so not cheap (probably worth a small house given current market prices) so I dont know how anybody has the nerves to cut things like rosewood!

Pretty much all my woodwork has been in low cost timber, gumtree, reclaimed etc. I feel I’ve the skills to make use of better timber but the idea of cutting into a single board that was hundreds of pounds fills me with dread!
