Fortunately the Core wood is sound, unfortunately the attractive contrasts available from sap wood inclusion are no longer available.
And if you store it under cover, check it regularly for infestation, toxic some of it maybe but a surprising number of little critters seem to enjoy a fix of the sap wood.
