Someone's recently asked me for suggestions for sticking wood to the outside of tiles - I won;t bore you good people with the reasons, but the wood would need to be stuck on the glazed side.

Gripfill was my first thought, as that seems to stick wood to anything. However, a white product would be preferable.

Any suggestions for a suitable product? This is for attaching trim, so doesn't need to have massive load-bearing strength.

Thanks

White stixall sounds like it'd tick all the boxes [WINKING FACE]

Silicone sticks well to tiles and has the added benefit of being easier to remove in the future since you can dissolve it. Won't discolour the glaze either which some solvent based adhesives can.

Roughing up the glaze before bonding with some sort of diamond stone wouldn't hurt. Just using a diamond cutting disc by hand would probably do it.

Use sanitary silicone. ordinary silicone peels away quite quickly in a wet / damp enviroment.
