I know it's an old trick, but I was quite impressed at how well it worked out on a little problem I had today.

Fitting a kitchen, Iroko worktops, and I dinged one of them. Quite badly (don't know how).

Bit of steam application via an iron over a tea-towel.

Worked a treat.

Cheers

Even had turnings returned with a request of 'can you recover/hide that!' after some careful sole has dropped them or similar. Ten mins. in the shed waiting for the iron to heat up and the applied water to penetrate and a quick buff with the buffing mops enhances my halo no end.

Mind you a request for an explanation as to why it had not worked out quite as expected, when someone had tried it later on at home with a sprayed lacquer finished table, was not so easy to accomplish with a similar simple glib comment.
