Startrite TA 125

Has anyone got a Startrite with a crosscut table? I am interested in how heavy the folding bit is and if it is practical to fold it down when not in use.

Even better, has anyone got one near Gloucester that I could have a look at?

I am gently starting to look for one and want to make sure I am after the right thing!

Mrs C, do you mean the TA 1250 table saw? We've had a few discussions on it recently here.

If it is the 1250 you mean, then I'd say the folding table is fairly heavy, but it's easy to lift up and fold down as most of the weight is supported by the rail. The problem comes with the fence though- you need to remove the fence to fold the table down (easy enough) but then you need to make sure the fence is straight when you re-attach it later. I haven't yet found a quick way to do that!
