after having the geezer back to my workshop to fit a new motor to my startrite 351e I finally have a bandsaw that works.
(apparently the centra-fugal [spelling] brake was a rubbish design on the old motors and they have changed over to a new one..............)

I was quite supprised by 3 things:
a) how slow the band turns
b) how rubbish the supplied band cuts.
c) no microswitches on the top or bottom doors to stop the motor

The same geezer tried to convince me that the "carbon" blade supplied was the bees knees, although it can`t be re-sharpened.

Me thinks I`ll be phoning dure edge..................... (who he had never heard of!!!)

Hello Kityuser

Glad to hear you're now up and running. I'm still waiting for "the geezer" to contact me to come and have a look at my Notrite 351SE.

Last week I got a couple of Dure Edge blades to see if this would help the tracking problems I seem ti be having. They didn't help that but the cutting performance was a revelation. They were no more expensive than the Noname blades from tool suppliers either. Get some.

Regards

Roy
