At the risk of sounding like a huge nerd, I saw these were released a while ago in the States and thought they looked really nice. Well now they're here in the UK so I picked up a couple and I have to say I'm a fan. A metric/imperial option would be nice but you can't have everything.

I got mine from eBay for £6ish.

Legend. My old man had one. Not as fancy. No nice marketing box.
I bought one because I'm apparently at the life stage i need various tape measures. My old build Centre one disappears too often then reappears in Area 51 and no one owns up.
Bought one for me.
Mrs came home from work.
Love! look at this! This is a copy of my dad's old tape measure!
Shut the front door. Your old man wants a tape measure for Christmas.
Noooooooooo!!!

Just bought another one. Cheers Dad.

Barto.
Full Circle my man.
Many thanks for posting mate.
Regards as always,
Chris.

So I bought one and it arrived today.

It is an ornament, basically.

It doesn't exactly have a smooth action like my proper Stanley powerlock, the tape is fairly thin which means it is floppy and there is no lock.

Looks lovely though.

Ahh that's a disappointment. Mine still aren't here. Still not a great surprise just a shame. Didn't expect Din levels just a working tape. Table gifts at Christmas then to the family.
Didn't expect a lock so that's ok.

I got mine today. I was less disappointed. I would estimate that 85% of my measuring is done on things at less than a metre, probably most of that it is at less than half, so the thin tape is less of an issue. mine seemed smooth enough. For a little over a fiver, I am happy enough. If I was using it to its max length regularly, I would suggest a different tool. horses for courses.
