Hi All,

when I neared at this wonderful world which is wood and woodworking it was blame of a book my wife given to his father. It spoken of pear tree as the stabler wood around. Old straightedges were achieved with that essence because it'll never move or few.
Is possible :?: , by your experience, to list a classification about it?
I know wood movement depends how the log is sawed, but let's put it's the same for every essence.

Cheers
Gabriele

Gabriele, yes, stability is a criterion often quoted about woods along with weight, bending, shock resistance etc. You might find this a nice time waster while you choose the "perfect wood". :D
