I am new to this forum and this is my first post and hoping someone may be able to help me. I have just bought a second hand SIP planer thicknesses model 01552 and on getting it home I have noticed one of the blade clamping bars is damaged. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement part for this?

Thanks, Steve

Thanks but been here and my model and part does not come up. I will call later today but wasn't sure if there was somewhere else to go

Thanks

Well there maybe if SIP can't help you.
SIP like many other suppliers import chinese machines so there are other suppliers who may have machines almost the same as yours under a variety of model numbers and paint jobs. They may have one similar to yours.
Very few suppliers will guarantee their spare parts will fit machines form another supplier but there is a good chance they will. It is a case of searching for a supplier who still stocks parts for what looks like your machine and then asking around (here?) to compare sizes, hole spacings etc and then taking a punt. A word of warning. Replace these as a set as the new one could be of different weight and throw the machine out of balance. At 4000 rpm or so this will not be a good idea.
Consider also a new set of bolts from good engineering suppliers. Some of these chinese machines have bolts made out of cheese and heads round off etc just when it is least convenient.

Sorry meant to say thanks to myfordman re advice on balance and bolts. The replacement part comes as a pair so I will put both new clamps on.

Thanks again
