Well folks i'm still about and managed to get some time back at the lathe so thought i'd turn some of the fruit blanks i have cut up so turned some of the spalted Ash i'd saved from the off cuts of the bowl blanks and these are the results with some beautiful spalting :D

Very Appealing Paul, see you are making them in Pairs now.

The spalting looks very effective.
 
Can't you turn some fruit that is not rotten :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

The all look great. I think using spalted wood makes them look better

Bob- i have used scraps of Walnut on these just cut into suitable sized blanks for the stems on the bandsaw,but any brown coloured timber will do.
Paul- i used the Chestnuts buffing system for the finish.

Did you use it on bare wood Paul, or cellulose sanding sealer, mc wax maybe ?
