Does anyone have any experience with either of these? Both offer reasonably priced chisels (Sorby more so) but I'm leaning towards Henry Taylor as the handles are socketed.

I own several Sorby's: 1.5" framing, 1" corner-framing, 3-3/8" slick. Also a 2" no.284 registered (got a good cash deal).
They haven't been subjected to years of abuse but several months of intense use over the years.
Steel is excellent. Handles are good.
Not broken them, but then I haven't broken any handles on any chisels. Repaired / replaced some on others second-hand.
I liked the H-Taylor but felt the Sorby were better value for money.
Also several Oak framing companies were (at time of my buying) using them.

Alex.

Thanks Alex!

P.s. You're right, the Sorbys offer much better value for money. To order both 1.5 and 2 inch chisels I'd be saving about 70 quid over the Henry Taylors! And realistically I doubt there's really much between the two. Sorby it is I reckon.
