I have some ideas for a couple of pieces of wood, making a couple of clocks from them. I have only done this once before and to be honest the hands and mechanisms were naff, very flimsy and looked cheap. Can anyone advise on where I can get decent hands and mechanisms from? Searching online doesn't really give any idea of how good they actually are. I don't want faces or numbers particularly, just decent mechanisms and hands that have some strength
thanks in anticipation.

Why not go to a car boot sale and buy a few old mantle or alarm clocks from the 50's or 60's. Usually the cases are worn out but the movements are incredably well made and cost only a few quid.
