Hi?

I need to work out how many boards of MDF I need for my conservatory cabinet. I have downloaded CutList but can't seem to work it out.

MDF Sheet: 2440x1220x18mm or 3050x1220x18mm

Component = WxLxDxQty

Side 54 56 2 6
Back 80 58 2 3
Base 84 54 2 3
Door 42 60 2 6

I'm afraid I don't even know where to start with it? Do I manually enter each part then...?

Each of your components has a circa 60cm dimension, so you can get two of those along the 1220 dimension of the sheet.

Side 54 x 56 x 6, so 2 x 56 cm along the 1220 axis, so you need 3x540 along the 2440 axis = 1620, leaving 820 of the sheet for: Back 80 x 58 x 2.

Then 1 x back and 3 x base 84 x 54 is another 580 +540 of the next sheet gone = 1120 leaving 1320 of the sheet into which you can fit the 6 of 42x60s in three pairs.

2 sheets.

How you're going to get the 2cm dimension from 18mm MDF is another question!

Thats quick maths Jake! I managed to work Cutlist out and it makes you right! My Maths is terrible i'm afraid!

Oh and well spotted with the 2cm mdf, just realised they do 18mm which will be fine.

Thanks :)

dont forget to add in the saw kerf it all adds up when cutting sheets

rather than open another thread i'll ask the next question here.

All I have is a cricular saw for cutting up these boards. I have a straight edge Guide Clamp

What the best way of cutting these parts accurately?
