Hi all,

I'm looking for recommendations for a soft-close mechanism for a children's toy box. I've put soft close hinges on, but they're not strong enough to slow the lid as it closes. It's a pine lid around 810x420mm. I was thinking of a gas strut or similar but wondered whether the collective wisdom had any good or bad experiences to share.

Thanks in advance,
Oli

Looked in to this myself a few weeks ago, best I found was Sugatsune soft close lid stay from eurofitdirect.co.uk I used them with blum type hinges (think un sprung).

Worked really well, can post a link when I get home

Yes they are the ones.

Peter Parfit from the New Brit Workshop has a video on his channel showing him fitting them to a case/box for I think a keyboard.

Gas springs are available from screwfix for kitchen cabinets etc... you can gang them up for more push/resistance
