I have a small job that requires an inexpensive sliding chop saw; however, after doing a bit of research I have concluded that most of the jobs I do on the table saw could be done on a sliding chop saw.

Moving the table saw out to the garage would give me a bit more room in the shop, so I am thinking I could spend a bot more on the Chop Saw. I have a max budget of £400.00 and I think a 10" would give me a deeper cut than my current table saw.

What would you buy if you had circa £400.00 to spend?

I have been looking at Bosch, Makita, De Walt and Evolution

Regards

John

do you need it to be mobile?

If not, have you considered a radial arm saw- they tend to be dirt cheap now that they are less fashionable

Don't touch evolution. They're fine as a super cheap option where accuracy isn't an issue, and you want to chop up anything and everything, but precision is out of the window

..Metabo..works for me after months of "research"...right balance of quality / cost (and weight!!...the saw not me :) )
