Hi guys,

After a year of searching for a table saw I got my hands on a second hand SIP 01332 table saw for £300.

Apart from the height adjustment not working and rust on the table top it’s in decent condition. Hoping someone on here can help me with a few queries...

Has anyone recently cleaned up a cast iron table top? If so, what products and process did you use? It looks like surface rust only.

The height adjustment has broken. On inspecting it there is a weld broken that would hold the threaded bar in place and tension the adjustment setup. I can re-weld it but I’m trying to work out if the weld is supposed to be there or if someone has put this as a fix. Does anyone know what way it is supposed to be.

Thanks in advance!

I would give it a wire brush to see if the weld has a bronze look to it.
Ditto with the table.
You can buy "all weld" rods for the job
