Hi all,
My shower waste pipe has a slight water leak, no more than a weep but still it's a leak. So has anyone tried silicone self amalgamating tape for leak sealing? According to the blurb it resists heat, pressure etc and I'm wondering if it is ws good as they say. Removing and replacing would be a major performance.

The plumber we used in the last place I lived swore by the stuff for getting out of a mess in a hurry, apparently not so good in high pressure situations but something like a waste pipe it would be ideal. I used some outside on a downpipe to water butt connection which kept giving trouble and it was still holding well after a few months when we moved.
