Sikkens Advice

I am about to re-coat an exterior wooden workshop after 3 years of buying new, now showing signs of wear in the exterior painting--the supplier coated the exterior with Sikkens, but I do not know which type of Sikkens was used. Your advice on which type of Sikkens to use--can you advise? Both undercoat & top coat. Would you sandpaper (rough up) the original finish as in normal painting? Two coats of top coat?

Is there any other make of paint / varnish that you think is more durable than Sikkens?

If it's large areas like cladding I would guess it's Sikkens Cetol HLS plus which is a low build stain. It can be used as a basecoat on windows etc with another of their stains over the top but on things like cladding and fascia it is often used on it's own. It is good stuff.
