There has been quite a bit of discussion recently about cyclones and pressure relief valves. I've not had a PRV in my shop vac powered setup. I have a flimsy plastic bin which I have fitted out with strengthening webs.
It works well enough but I thought I would make a PRV using my 3D printer. I drew it up in TurboCAD and printed out the parts last night
I glued a bit of foam to the washer
And turned a thumbscrew to adjust the spring tension. The 6mm threaded rod is loctited into a captive nut in the washer part.
And here it is working. The vacuum is very loud you might want to turn your volume down before playing the video...
