I was reading a book on pattern making recently; it's a very odd branch of woodworking, since you are essentially making a form designed to be made from metal - in wood. As a consequence it's most unlike other woodworking.

To true, my knowledge of pattern making is very very limited. It does feel very removed from the kinda stuff I do.
