hi need some advice this morticer uses collets instead of a chuck I have no collets so was wondering if I could convert this. thanks

Perfectly feasible if you have access to a metal working lathe and the skills to maintain concentricity.
Possibly best to make a new adaptor to fit the motor shaft with say a JT6 taper on the end and fit a 1/2" chuck on that.

I've used a 571 for a fair few years, in fact I've just traded in my old 571 for the latest version. Both of my 571's have chucks, just a thought but maybe Sedgewick have an upgrade kit?

If You contact Sedgwick directly they can supply a set of collets to suit your machine, I did this when I bought my machine which arrived minus any collets. I think that they refer to them as a reducing kit. Can`t remember the price but don`t think it was too much and will save a lot of time and effort in altering what is a cracking piece of kit.
