After my recent play around with logs from the local woods and finding some nice spalting timber i got to thinking i should season a few pieces . Then i thought i cant wait a whole year per inch ! So im to the point in my thinking .... what about if i made a warm room :) 1 or 2 radiators in a well insulated shed ? would it speed up the process ? would it be pointless ? should i stop thinking and posting stupid ideas ?

You would be better off with a dehumidifier and a very small heat source to season the wood rather than just lots of heat. Have a look Here

I' ve also got quite a good article in an American mag on making a kiln if you want as scan pm me.
