Is there any way to search for a phrase? For example, jack plane.

I try putting 'jack' 'plane' and searching for all words but just get references to plane and/or jack but not 'jack plane'.

Putting "jack plane' doesn't seem to work either.

edit: I didn't read your post carefully enough and asked if you'd ticked "all". Doh.

??? Does this mean that one cannot search for a phrase

Cheers

Roger

BTW Many thanks for the pointer towards Auction Sniper in another thread. Proved it's worth already.

I don't believe that the forum software used (phpBB) supports phrase searching due to the way their database is designed (I think that searching is done against a table of individual words which links to the messages they are used in rather than searching the messages themselves).

I don't think you can, jack and plane in the same post is as close as you'll get.

Pleasure, although I clearly remember learning in that thread that in fact you always pay more than you would have otherwise if you snipe. /sarcasm. Glad it's working for you, I just hope you don't out-snipe me!

Philly, don't think that jack+plane works.

Jake..reckon you're right...shame that but guess we have to live with it.

Curious..can't find the ebay thread again and so can't re-read why sniping makes you pay more.
