Hi
I recently won the above machine on Ebay. All in working order, and I'm very pleased.
However (and this is my first mortiser, so apologies for any stupid questions/remarks) on the adjustable fence, there's a part that goes over the top of the workpiece, with a hole in the middle that the chisel descends through.
I presume it's possible to raise and lower this (otherwise I can only fit bits of wood in that are max 40mm thick. The knob or handle to adjust this seems to be missing. It would fit on to a round shaft, that's been ground flat on one side.
My question is - any idea where I can get a handle, and are parts like this interchangeable? Would one from a different make of mortiser fit?
