I have just become the owner of a second hand SM12 :D

However I seem to have a bit of a problem :-({|=

I have no instructions and can't talk to the previous owner, when I try a do a cut it wanders off to the left as I look at it. There are guides for the blade above and below the table but I don't know if they are set right. It came with 3 brand new blades but the one in it seems sharp to me.

Any advice will be very welcome

Cheers

Hi Grumf

It sounds to me as though the blade has been used for cutting circles.

I think if you change it for a new one, preferably a Dure Edge blade, your problem will be solved.

Grumf.

You have a learning curve coming as regards setting up the bandsaw.

First; Release all bearings, and that blade runs on tyres centrally.
Second; Make sure the table and blade are correctly set SQUARE
Third; Set lower bearings, use a piece of paper between all bearings and the blade

Fourth Do the same with the top bearings.

Then do a test on a SCRAP PIECE OF TIMBER.

If still has a wander you most probably need to set the fence angle to correct path of timber past blade.

I now love my bandsaw.

Thanks for advice, unfortunately I work away and so will have to wait until I get back to put it all to good use.
