scroll saw book

.I would like to buy my husband a good book on how to scroll saw and all its aspects, he is an accomplished carpenter/cabinet maker but due to illness needs a little less strenuous hobby. Can anyone suggest a UK written book please. Thank you.

I would think the vast majority of books about scroll sawing originate in America, and I think most of those are by Patrick Spielman. I have a couple of books I could recommend by someone called Zachary Taylor who may or may not be British. The books are called 'Success With The Scroll Saw' and ' Scroll Saws: A Workshop Bench Reference.' Both books are from the 1990's so the saws in them are out of date, but the techniques remain very much the same. I don't know of any recent books, but if there are any, hopefully someone will let us know.
I bought good used copies from Amazon and saved a substantial amount on the new price.

The first scroll saw book I ever bought was Scroll Saw Handbook by Patrick Spielman ISBN 0806947705

It was published in 1987 but is still relevant today and is IMHO the most comprehensive book on scroll-sawing available.

Amazon list many copies from marketplace sellers from around £1.41 +2.80 postage.

This book covers practically everything one wants to know about Scroll sawing inc what saw to buy and best choice of blades. I bought my copy many years ago but still 'dip' into it every so often. I can thoroughly recommend it.

Scroll Saw Workbook by John A Nelson ISBN 1565237668 is also a good read it is more up to date than the above and has full colour pictures etc but does not have the same depth of comprehensive information that Patrick Spielmans book has.
