Hi, new to the forum and first post.
I'm looking for a log splitter and have been searching the Internet and forums before making my purchase, the Sheppack brand seems to be liked by many compared to the Chinese imports. Scheppach have spares which is a bonus.
Has anyone have experience using the Sheppach OX T500 and or the larger OX T700? I'm torn between the two (the 500 is rated at 5 ton and the 700 at 7 ton).
I'd be grateful for any advice.
Thanks, Steve.

We are usually a bit more gentle with our wood here

Welcome to the forum and apologies that I cannot be more constructive on this topic.
My general philosophy is that big is beautiful but of course budget may be a limiting factor.

Yeah my kind of woodworking is mainly logging using a chainsaw and an axe, but the chisels and hand plane do come out now and again.
As big as the budget allows seems to be good advice, I like the look of the sheppach Ox t700, it's a horizontal splitter but it can be stored on end which sounds good for someone like me with an over crowded garage.
Thanks for the response.
