I can't get head around it. Been on youtube and google but I cannot seem to get the blade to stay on as a tighten.

It just seems to hop off the front of one of the wheels all the time. The only thing I haven't done is re-check for the wheels being coplaner but having not moved them I can't see how they won't be. Just can't get it to run true.

It was a good blade when I bought it but its about 6 year old now - is it possible to have warped a bit?

Hi Selwyn, you need to have changed your blade in that time. What size and make of blade is it? The best blades around are made nby Ian Black at Tuffsaw Blades and he is very helpful if you give him a call. The blade will depend on the type of work you are using the bandsaw for. To get your bandsaw working well, follow the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGbZqWac0jU and this should help.

Thanks. But out of interest why would i need to have changed the blade? This one is still ok?

(not that I'm against getting a new one)

Co-planar is one thing, tracking is another, your top wheel needs to be adjusted to bring the blade to the centre of the wheel, there will be a knob of sorts on the rear of the top part of the cabinet which allows you to do this.
Six years ??? unless it doesn't do much work the need to change the blade is because a six year old one will be blunt with a capital 'B' which is forcing your bandsaw to work overtime.

I recently had trouble setting up a used bandsaw that I had just got and followed Steve Mackery's DVD to set initial tension, tracking and final tension.
In my case the blade was running too far forward on the bottom wheel and I successfully adjusted the bottom wheel axle and now the blade runs in the middle of both wheels.
Steve's Bansaw Essentials is an excellent DVD.

I checked for co-planar before making the adjustment to the lower wheel axle and the lower wheel was 10mm back from the top wheel - I could not see a means of altering this so proceeded with the axle adjustment.
I have not rechecked for co-planar since, as it means removing the table, but I assume it has changed due to the re-tracking of the lower wheel and the subsequent change to tracking of the upper one.
Take your time and go through the various adjustments, and if you have to adjust the lower wheel axle, do so in small steps e.g - 1/4 turn of the screws at a time.
When I asked for help on this forum an article was posted to me in a reply - I can't seem to upload it right now, so search for my topic and you will find it there - topic is :- 'BAS 316G Bandsaw setup'.
Good luck.
