Folks I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on a problem I have with a second hand purchased Scheppach 2600 ci. The fence clamp at the front has an issue. The clamp cam lever just hangs down and does not clamp against the support bar. It floats easilythrough all its motion without touching anything. Looking at the action the clamp goes no where near the from of the support as I would expect and the only way I can get it to "lock" is to put a ruler between the support and the locking cam. I am wondering if there is anything missing. I have looked at the cam and in the casting and there is no adjustment or device that I can see to close the gap.

Any ideas anyone ? :?:

I'm not familiar with that particular fence, but if a ruler is enough to make it work properly then that does raise one possibility.
Does the cam bear directly on the rial, or is there a shim of steel in the casting, acting as a pressure plate? If there is no pressure plate, does it look as if there is somewhere where it might be fitted?
I'm surprised there is no adjustment at all.

Compare what you have with a parts diagram for the machine to see if anything is missing (NMA are the Scheppach people and have a guy on here)

I have checked in the casting and there is a recess in in above the cam , but nothing is in it. Looking at the parts diagram it shows no additional parts that I can see and I have looked a few times. I was hoping someone out there had a scheppach machine and could tell me if there is a bit missing .....
