Scanner Advice

Recently bought a new laptop—‘Chrombook’. Our old laptop which was on a Windows 10 system packed up hence new laptop. Our existing scanner is not compatible with ‘Chrombook’. My question is: Can anybody who uses ’Chromebook’ recommend a scanner that is compatible? My use is for home use only.

Have you exhausted all possibilities getting the scanner to work with the chromebook? I would think there might be a patch available to get around the compatability issues, perhaps a question for a tech forum?

What made you go to a chromebook, ok it does not run Android which is good but some version of Linux so is there support out there even with Google involved!

My mother brought a Chromebook but it was to closely linked the the cloud which ended up a pain; so she took it back and got a Windows machine.
