I wonder why it has become much less common for timber suppliers to sell redwood or in other words joinery grade and above pine in sawn form? Easy enough to get decent P.A.R which is fine but annoying to then have to re machine it.
 
I also have difficulty in my area,that is in Mansfield.I travel over to Stoke my home town where good quality sawn redwood can be bought from Hymor Timber.You can still buy It but you have to ask around,much cheaper and better quality than the usual p.a.r. available .I buy fifths or unsorted,excellent for joinery.
 
Sorry just seen your location,bit far from Stoke,but prices down South will probably be exorbitant as with most things you buy from your area,hope you find somewhere,best regards Kevin.
