Hi,

I'm considering using Sandolin extra satin on some black walnut( in a bathroom ), I want a waterproof
finish but I don't want it to be glossy, has anyone used this product ? and if so what do you think ?

Thanks
Davon

I have only used Sadolin as an external finish and found it to be excellent. However, I think the "Extra" versionis the one I used and it is pigmented. If I am right about that, you will find that after a few coats it appears more like a painted surface than a varnish because all the grain is obscured. I think the standard Sadolin is clearer but just how clear I don't know.

I'd be tempted to saturate it with oil first, such as teak oil, let it dry completely then put on a couple of hard coatings such as satin dulux diamond glaze.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've decided to buy some Sandolin clear and try it on a cut off

If it's not suitable I will use it on something else.
