I need to buy a couple of rolls of sandpaper and thought I would look on e-bay. There is quite a few to choose from but like most things on e-bay I expect there is some rubbish as well and I am not sure what to go for. I have seen one on there called Mirka Promax, has anyone bought this or could someone reccomend something. I need it mainly for sanding 18mm thick hardwood after it has come off the router table and looking for 120 and 180 grit. Many thanks in dvance.

I've bought the rolls like this several times - I think they come from Silverline, but this supplier has always given good service and even replaced an order of several rolls when it got "misplaced" by royal mail. The paper is good thick stock, and lasts a reasonable time - I'm sure there might be better, but this seems to do what I need it to in short order. At this price you can afford to replace it sooner for faster removal when you need it (but I always save those for "next stage" sanding as it's almost like a 180 grit by then).

All of the mirka products that I have used have been very good. But haven't used promax

I also use Mirka. I have one of their handheld sanders that attaches to your vacuum with a hose and because the Mirka paper has holes in it....all the dust gets sucked away. I also have their Ceros.
