Hello everybody peeps!!

I have some old tools, (set square, old compass set, chisels, etc)
which someone gave me...some of them look worth keeping but i need to get rid of all the rust...any ideas?!

:-"

Do a search on the forum, or t'internet, for citric acid rust removal and electrolysis rust removal. Both methods give good results.

This stuff is very good, soak them overnight and just wash the rust off. Then wax or oil.

I think it is citric acid based with some passivating agents possibly phosphoric acid.
Goes a ovely green colour when it has fiished working.
Also try soaking them in Coca Cola, the proper stuff not the diet version or cheapo stuff. The Phosphoric Acid in it is a great rust remover/passivator.
