What is the best way to get rid of rust on my fretsaw work table
I haven't used it for about two months and was surprised to see the amount of rust on it.
It seems t be where my hands rest on it while sawing.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Splintez,

Use fine wire wool and any form of soft furniture wax of the type that comes in a tin.
The use of wax as you clean not only helps impregnate the table, it also helps stop fine rust dust from floating in the air you breathe whilst cleaning.

Hope this helps,

Scrollerman

I bought a scroll saw with a rusty table. I used wet and dry with white spirit. It was hard work but the result was very good and came up like new. I then used Liberon lubricating wax which put a nice protective sheen on the table and this helps to keep any rust at bay.

Thank you Scrollerman, Chippygeoff AND phil.p for your replies.
Last time I used it I vacuumed it and sprayed the table with WD40,wiped the excess off and thought that would keep it in good condition.
