I read Honest John too and he tends to be pretty fair and even with his responses and info, I also remember that stat and it was something like 20-30 mins being the average amount of time from stopping on the hard shoulder to being hit. If true then a pretty sobering stat. I had to replace a tyre on a slip road last year and that was bad enough
