I’m looking to set up a budget sharpening rig with a reversed bench grinder, leather honing wheel and around a 180-220 grit wheel, with after market tool rest.
I see Ashley Iles and Axminster do a rubber matrix silicon carbide wheel (100mm). I was hoping for a 150mm wheel but nowhere else seems to do this.
Has anyone got experience of these wheels? Are they superior to any other bonded aluminium oxide/silicon carbide wheel? And does anyone have a similar setup they’d like to commend?
