Hi everyone,

Does anyone out there know where I can buy a rubber mat, to put in front of my lathe, for the twin purpose of comfort and ease of floor sweeping? I have seen the anti-fatigue mats in the Axminster catalogue, but was thinking of something thinner and  cheaper!

Cheers

Keith

Try your local DIY superstore (but not for timber  ). They usually have a good selection of mats.

I've seen some 'carpet protecter' stuff which can be bought off the roll. May not be much underfoot comfort though.

(Carpet slippers....... :D  )

I've got axminster's anti-fatigue mat, I use it when I'm working at my bench and I have to say that it does make a good difference. :)

Rubber matting aint cheep.

Machine mart do some decent mats about 0.95 x 5 or 10 metres, but they start from about £25

I use carpet underlay up side down and it helps a lot, it dose get quite dusty after a time but i just take it outside and give it a bashing
