Wanting now to use the Triton in my router table I need to make the hole large enough to be able to drop the router with plate in rather than fiddle about underneath each time I want to use it. The material I use currently for other routers is 6mm thick acrylic approx 8" square but as this will require a plate size of approx 12"x9", I want to use 6mm aluminium plate to support the weight without flexing.
Does anyone know of a source for such a thing or is there blank router plate in this size/material available in the Uk.
Rockler do a large plate in the US at $69 but I want to avoid overseas ordering if possible.

BeeJay,

Have you considered the Jessem aluminium plate (£40 from Rutlands) - its certainly the route I would go down now if I was getting a new plate. Its also almost exactly the size you specified :)

The link is in my post here if you are interested.

Cheers,
Neil
